Horizons First Photo Contest Winner Announced

Posted: Friday, April 1

Daniel Holt submitted the winning photograph for the first leg of the Colville Horizons Community Calendar photo contest. Local photographers have been asked to submit photos of events or landscapes that reflect Colville through various months or seasons. "The crane towering over the Vaagen Brothers sawmill is a symbol of viable industry in Colville,” Holt commented. All Stevens County residents are eligible to enter Horizon’s ongoing photo contest. Winning photos, judged by a panel of Colville Horizons members, will be featured in the 2011/2012 Colville Horizons Community Calendar. Deadlines for submissions for spring photos are April 20, and for summer July 30. Each contestant may submit up to twelve landscape digital photographs for the year ending July 30, 2011 by e-mailing them as JPEG files to susan.poe@gmail.com. In the body of the e-mail please include name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, age (optional), and a sentence explaining how the photo relates to the theme. Photos that include people may require a model release. For information about model release forms, contact Sue Poe at (509) 685-6649. Potential contestants with questions may contact Valerie Lamont, valerielamont@gmail.com. Since 2007 Colville Horizons has partnered with the Northwest Area Foundation and WSU Extension to leverage community leadership to reduce poverty and improve infrastructure in Colville, Washington and surrounds.

What a great photo! The crane at Vaagen's was one of the first items I admired when I came to Colville over 10 years ago.

Your blog looks nice, even so it would be far better if you’ll be able to use lighter colors too as a professional design. This will make sure that a lot more readers come to check it out.Informative post by the way!
